SCOTT: 1841 var

MAJOR FREAK - The explanatory statement with the APS color Certificate for this stamp states that all colors are present - back, gray, yellow, magenta, cyan and deep blue. However, the application of the magenta is so weak that the portrait background and dress are green instead of the normal black. This is a striking freaky error! The only example we've ever seen in 40 years of handling Polish stamps! (Michel 2112 variety.) The scan below shows a normal stamp on top and the Freaky MiniSheet underneath.
